Shirley Storey - Stoneware Pottery & Ceramics - Ceramic Artist, Potter & Vessel Maker
Shirley has been throwing & hand building pottery vessels for over 35 years. She is essentially self taught.
Her vessels have been much coveted over the years as utilitarian works of art.

Although her vessels are functional, many are just as worthy of display as objects of art.
Shirley Storey was born in Charlo, MT; moved to Ennis in 1953 as a 19 year old school teacher. She was married to Bob Storey for 48 years. They owned the bowling alley for 20 years. Among her many occupations were waitressing, working in a bakery and a taxidermy shop, as a highway flagger, assisting her husband in mortuary work and accepting lots of volunteer jobs! Shirley has 3 sons, 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Shirley has been an active member of the Ennis Arts Association for many years. She sells her pottery at the Madison Valley Arts Festival and the Women's Club Bazaar and maintains a pottery
studio in her home.
Shirley Story has said of her work, "Pottery is something I always thought I would like to do & it has worked out well for me & has been a blessing in my life."
