Kathy Claassen Carpenter - Works in 2 & 3 dimensions in Multi-media - specializing in Fiber combined with other elements including Acrylic, Watercolor, Gouache, Ceramic & various found objects & materials.
Claassen Carpenter found her calling in the arts at the early age. Her family lived in Europe for three years, where her father, an Air Force officer, was stationed. The family traveled extensively, visiting the many museums and historic locations there. This exposure, at so young an age, to some of the greatest art in the world molded the way she perceived the world at large. Upon returning to the United States, her grandmother, mostly a painter who enjoyed playing in other media as well, opened her eyes to the possibilities of being an artist herself. Her uncle, Larry Zabel, as well as, her cousin were both painters. She attended the Kansas City Art Institute & received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in Studio Art Degree from Missouri Southern State University.
She now works out of her studio in Ennis, Montana, where along with her partner, Randy Green, she also runs, Mountain Creative Concepts, an artists' support business that serves the art community of Southwestern Montana.
"I believe that all of us are created with a purpose to fulfill. Few of us will find any satisfaction in life outside of that purpose. For me, my purpose is to worship The Creator through the creative ability that was given to me."
