Karen Snedeker - Ceramic Artist, Potter & Vessel Maker
Started in clay by her mother, also a potter, Karen has been working in clay for over ten years. Her whimsical & artful ceramic pieces are playful and charming.
"For over 35 years I have worked as a cosmetologist & in that I could always visualize in my head what I was going to do. When I retired in 2000, my mother asked if I'd like to try pottery. In the 25 years that she has been doing pottery, I had never tried it. I started with coiling, then hand-building. I decided to take a class & then a couple more & have been making pottery ever since. I can now visualize my pottery in my head.
My work is contemporary visual art with simple clean forms. I also do functional bowls."
